5:30pm-6:00pm Workshop: Celebrating the Body Erotic
For nearly 30 years, the Body Electric School has provided unique experiential learning for men seeking to connect on deeper levels with themselves and with others. Men attend BE workshops and retreats for a variety of reasons, and the results are often surprising and extremely satisfying. This is a therapeutic and nurturing mind/body/spirit experience for most people... and a lot of fun!

The Body Electric School is for men who want to explore their erotic potential, regardless of age, appearance, or background. BE is for open-minded men and those who want to be more open-minded; for men who like touch and those who want to learn to touch and be touched; and for men who feel healthy and those who want to feel healthier. This work is naturally healing.

We've all played this as kids and now we spice up this fun game playing it naked. The basic rules of Twister are simple. One player spins the spinner, and then each player must try to place the designated body part on a vacant circle of the designated color. Any player that touches the mat with an elbow or knee or falls to the mat is disqualified. The last person still on the mat is the winner. To make the game even more fun, add variations to the game - no touching, or touching naughty bits only - and see what happens when a group of naked men intertwine their bodies during a fame of pure enjoyment.

6:30pm-11:00pm Moonlight Rafting

We're excited to offer our selection whitewater rafting excursions! Meet at the parking lot at 6:15 pm to catch a bus from the camp to the rafting departure location. Reservations must be made in advance but you can also sign up just as you are ready to board the bus. Rick will be available to sign up any last minute rafters. The cost is $100 per person.

Moonlight Rafting is a nighttime experience like no other. Travel down 8 miles of the Lehigh River with the help of one of our professional river guides. Glow sticks on your raft provide helpful light for your voyage! Come back after your expedition and enjoy a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers. It’s the perfection combination of romance and adventure. Since you’ll be rafting under the moon with an in-raft river guide (you won’t have to do any of the paddling work yourself), when you’re finished, we’ll have an après party waiting for you (including wine, cheese, crackers, marshmallows, etc.) with a roaring bonfire. I’m told that since this is an evening event, nudity is allowed on the river. Never forget a towel and change of dry clothes, but don’t bring them with you on the raft. Otherwise you’ll have a wet towel and no dry clothes at the end of the evening. Leave them when you check in at the rafting office and get them after the trip. NO FLIP FLOPS & NO BARE FEET!

You should be healthy and capable of getting back in the raft should you fall out. If you have excessive weight for your height or have a disability which would hinder or prevent you from getting back into the raft, we do not recommend this trip for you although the evening trip will take you down areas of still water and the risk of falling out is minimal. You will also be asked to sign a waiver at the rafting office.

Expect to have a lot of fun! You'll be glad you tried this adventure!

8:00pm-9:30pm SHOWTIME: Trae Crowder - the Liberal Redneck
Trae is a stand up comedian, writer and co-author of the best selling book 'Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin' Dixie Outta the Dark'. Recently earning national attention (or notoriety, depending on your viewpoint) for his “Liberal Redneck” series of viral videos, Trae Crowder has been performing his particular brand of Southern-fried intellectual comedy in the Southeast and beyond for the past six years.

As a lifelong advocate for the LGBT community, Trae can't wait to perform for GNI this summer. Skeeew!

Performing for hundreds of nude gay men pretty much tops the list of credits, but you may have already seen Trae on The View (ABC), Nightline (ABC), Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO), Evening News with Don Lemon (CNN), Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell (MSNBC) and WTF with Marc Maron.

7:00am-8:30am Time to Learn to Swim!

You don't have to sit on the lounge chair by the side of the pool, or wade into the surf only up to your ankles. You can learn to swim, even if you're (er, well,) advanced beyond Middle School. Did you know that 5th graders in the Netherlands have to be able to swim 200 meters with all their clothes on (parkas, sneakers, scarves, etc.) before they can advance to 6th grade? The Dutch are worried about Global warming. Well, it's much more fun to swim with no clothes on, and that's what you'll be able to do if you join us for 4 ninety minute sessions. Your instructors are a certified lifeguard from Long Island (don't we all love lifeguards?) and a US Masters Certified Adult Learn to Swim Instructor (USMCALTSI!) who captured some serious gold at the Gay Games over the past 20 years. So leave that pink flamingo pool float in the cabin. You will need your own swim goggles, but absolutely no bathing suit!
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. 7am to 8:30. Lower Pool. Pre-registration required. We're limiting the class to six so register early.

Email coach Ed Dunne at eddunne@msn.com to reserve a place.

2:00pm-3:00pm Solar Eclipse Viewing
It hasn't happened in the United States for the past 38 years. Today, we have the rare opportunity to view a total solar eclipse. Although we will not be in the direct path of "totality" - where the shadow of the sun totally blocks out the light making it appear night for a couple of minutes, more than 80% of the sun will be eclipsed.

Come on down to the Grove where we will have a solar eclipse viewing party. GNI has ordered a couple dozen solar eclipse viewing glasses for everyone's use. If we have more than 25 men, we ask that you share the glasses among yourselves so everyone has a chance to see this rare occurrence.

Astronomy photographers - here's your chance to capture some incredible photos, assuming the sky is clear!

The best viewing time where the sun has been eclipsed the most will take place around 2:40 pm. Stick around as long as you want; we'll have snacks and beverages available.

11:00am-11:15am Memorial Service
One of the hardest things we all share in common is the loss of ones dear to us. Frankly, we all have different ways of dealing individually with loss. But there are things that are common to us all. One such universal is the healthy act of remembering, with good thoughts, those who have left, as one critical way to keep them “alive’ to us and others. Since our last GNI, some of our dear friends have died. And some of us have lost close ones not connected to the GNI family. On August 23rd, at the Gazebo, a brief memorial service will take place. As with all GNI activities, it is open to all. Come participate in this act of remembrance for those GNI family we have lost, and perhaps remember, as part of our collective journey thru grief and healing, others who have gone who were significant to you.

Competence Level: Rank beginner.

Reservations must be made in advance but you can also sign up just as you are ready to board the bus. Rick will be available to sign up any last minute rafters. The cost is $55 per person.

For summertime rafting fun bring your swimsuit, shorts, rivershoes or old sneakers. Always remember to dress for the weather. Bring eyeglass straps if you wear glasses. In the great tanning months, remember to bring your sunscreen. Never forget a towel and change of dry clothes, but don’t bring them with you on the raft. Otherwise you’ll have a wet towel and no dry clothes at the end of the day. Leave them when you check in at the rafting office and get them after the trip. NO FLIP FLOPS & NO BARE FEET!

You should be healthy and capable of getting back in the raft should you fall out. If you have excessive weight for your height or have a disability which would hinder or prevent you from getting back into the raft, we do not recommend this trip for you. You will also be asked to sign a waiver at the rafting office.

Lunch is included and you'll partake of an All-You-Can-Eat, Riverside Barbecue! Rafting staff will cook and serve you a picnic lunch – hotdogs, macaroni salad, chips, fruit, lemonade and water in their very own riverside meadow – complete with picnic tables, food service, and portable restrooms. A bus will bring you back to camp around 4 pm so you can settle back into the GNI swing of things.

Expect to have a lot of fun! You'll be glad you tried this adventure!

Competence Level: Rank beginner.

The advancement and protection of naturist interests involves so much more than unclothed folks hiking on public land, or a weekend visit to a commercial nudist resort. Explore. Expand. 8:00am-9:30am Breakfast
The first breakfast cereal, originally named “Granula,” was invented in the United States in 1863 by James Caleb Jackson. It never became popular because the bran nuggets had to be soaked overnight to be chewable; he later changed the name to Granola in 1881. John Harvey Kellogg is best known for the invention of the famous breakfast cereal, Corn Flakes, in 1878. These Corn Flakes were invented as part of his health regimen to prevent masturbation. His belief was that bland foods, such as these, would decrease or prevent excitement, arousal, and jerking off.

9:00am-4:30pm Dam Release Whitewater Rafting

We're excited to offer our selection of whitewater rafting excursions! Meet at the parking lot at 9:00 am to catch a bus from the camp to the rafting departure location. Reservations must be made in advance but you can also sign up just as you are ready to board the bus. Rick will be available to sign up any last minute rafters. The cost is $75 per person.

Dam Release Whitewater Rafting takes the Family Whitewater Rafting experience up a notch or two. You’ll be surrounded by state park protected mountains while enjoying 12 miles and 4-5 hours of Class II, III whitewater rafting and breathtaking scenery. This is a fun, thrilling, and memorable whitewater rafting trip that everyone can do – no experience necessary! You’ll blast through over 17 rapids, laugh, get wet and have an amazing day outdoors. If you were on the river last year, imagine a longer route, more exciting rapids, and fun! Since the state park regulates water releases from which these trips can be scheduled, we’ll be offering this event only on Saturday, August 26.

Lunch is included and you'll partake of a bag lunch including a hoagie, chips, etc. in their very own riverside meadow – complete with picnic tables, food service, and portable restrooms. A bus will bring you back to camp around 4 pm so you can settle back into the GNI swing of things.

Expect to have a lot of fun! You'll be glad you tried this adventure!

10:30am-11:30am NAC: OUT!
The best responses to those who marginalize and dismiss naturists and nudists do not involve making wildly inflated claims of large membership numbers, as one association chose to do a few years ago. In specific circumstances, we can - and should - use “hired guns,” like lobbyists and lawyers. But it can be argued that our very best tool is that of being seen and being known for who we are. If so, we should be OUT, as naturists. Thoughtful interactive discussion, with inevitable comparisons to other social movements. Facilitator: Bob Morton, NAC.
