5:30pm-6:00pm Workshop: Celebrating the Body Erotic
For nearly 30 years, the Body Electric School has provided unique experiential learning for men seeking to connect on deeper levels with themselves and with others. Men attend BE workshops and retreats for a variety of reasons, and the results are often surprising and extremely satisfying. This is a therapeutic and nurturing mind/body/spirit experience for most people... and a lot of fun!

The Body Electric School is for men who want to explore their erotic potential, regardless of age, appearance, or background. BE is for open-minded men and those who want to be more open-minded; for men who like touch and those who want to learn to touch and be touched; and for men who feel healthy and those who want to feel healthier. In short, this BE is for everybody!

Body Electric explores the body's erotic energy to promote self-awareness, love, and healing through pleasure and connection. BE work celebrates your whole body without shame, fear, or guilt.

Each circle of men creates a safe space for this exploration that respects participant discretion and confidentiality. We use individual, small and large group exercises, movement, ritual, massage, sharing, and other modalities. BE workshops can offer powerful support for those dealing with change your life, boundaries/connection, dis/comfort with your body, honoring your maleness, nudity, touch, adding erotic fire to your relationships, and many other areas. This work is naturally healing.

The core BE workshop is called Celebrating the Body Erotic (CBE). After completing a CBE weekend, you can attend advanced classes such as Dear Love of Comrades; Power, Surrender, and Intimacy (PSI); Into the Valley of Delight; Tantra for Men; Erotic Temple; Healing the Wounded Healer, and other adventures. Check out our website to read more and to view videos about our workshops for men.

10:30am-11:30am Naked Twister
We've all played this as kids and now we spice up this fun game playing it naked. The basic rules of Twister are simple. One player spins the spinner, and then each player must try to place the designated body part on a vacant circle of the designated color. Any player that touches the mat with an elbow or knee or falls to the mat is disqualified. The last person still on the mat is the winner. To make the game even more fun, add variations to the game - no touching, or touching naughty bits only - and see what happens when a group of naked men intertwine their bodies during a fame of pure enjoyment.

This is a self-facilitated activity so just show up and join in!

9:00am-4:00pm Whitewater Rafting

We're excited to offer our first whitewater rafting excursion! Meet at the parking lot at 9:00 am to catch a bus from the camp to the rafting departure location. Reservations must be made in advance but you can also sign up just as you are ready to board the bus. Rick will be available to sign up any last minute rafters. The cost is $55 per person.

For summertime rafting fun bring your swimsuit, shorts, rivershoes or old sneakers. Always remember to dress for the weather. Bring eyeglass straps if you wear glasses. In the great tanning months, remember to bring your sunscreen. Never forget a towel and change of dry clothes, but don’t bring them with you on the raft. Otherwise you’ll have a wet towel and no dry clothes at the end of the day. Leave them when you check in at the rafting office and get them after the trip. NO FLIP FLOPS & NO BARE FEET!

You should be healthy and capable of getting back in the raft should you fall out. If you have excessive weight for your height or have a disability which would hinder or prevent you from getting back into the raft, we do not recommend this trip for you. You will also be asked to sign a waiver at the rafting office.

Lunch is included and you'll partake of an All-You-Can-Eat, Riverside Barbecue! Rafting staff will cook and serve you a picnic lunch – hotdogs, macaroni salad, chips, fruit, lemonade and water in their very own riverside meadow – complete with picnic tables, food service, and portable restrooms. A bus will bring you back to camp around 4 pm so you can settle back into the GNI swing of things.

Expect to have a lot of fun! You'll be glad you tried this adventure!

10:00am-11:00am Developing Self Compassion

Developing Self Compassion:

Many of us are better at being compassionate and caring towards other people than towards ourselves. We may realize that a critical, judgmental attitude is not the attitude of a true supportive friend, and yet how often do we do this to ourselves? We can learn self compassion just as we learn other skills. It leads to a very powerful, liberating and joyful transformation in our relationship with ourselves. We realize that since mature love is the best way to nurture others, we owe it to ourselves also. We can learn to always have someone compassionate at our side, the part of us that realizes that truly loving ourselves is a key to having the best life possible. We will explore the wisdom and power of self compassion and learn how to coach ourselves in developing it. Discussion leader Dave Buller worked in mental health for 40+ years and was a skills trainer in one the country's top psychiatric programs.

Sharing important personal feelings, thoughts, experiences, etc. in a respectful group without being interrupted or judged can be a powerful experience.  It can be an important time of reflection during our busy days of having fun at GNI.  For attendees who have not yet made close connections at GNI, this is a place to share whatever needs to be expressed, and to perhaps develop closeness with others.

11:30am-12:30pm Living Well with Our Thoughts & Feelings

Living Well with Our Thoughts & Feelings:

Our feelings bring many of life’s best moments, and many of its worst.  Handling our emotions can be challenging, confusing and agonizing. Similarly, our thoughts can lead us to life's great successes, but often deprive us from the pleasures of the moment. We will learn some seemingly simple but powerful skills from mindfulness and newer branches of cognitive behavior therapy to help us navigate these dilemmas and move towards our best lives possible - based on our deepest values. We will gain understanding of thoughts and feelings and how to manage them. We will practice stepping back from them, observing them and, if possible, benefiting from them, rather than being lost inside them. Discussion leader Dave Buller worked in mental health for 40+ years and was a skills trainer in one the country's top psychiatric programs.

We've all played this as kids and now we spice up this fun game playing it naked. The basic rules of Twister are simple.

10:00am-11:00am Heart Circles

Heart Circle:

A Heart Circle creates an environment where each person and his words are valued and respected.  Each man will have a turn to share whatever important is on his heart (or mind), or choose to be silent.  All feelings are welcome as long as expressed respectfully of the other members.

The facilitator may limit the size of the group but anyone turned away will be offered another time to meet.  Dave Buller is an experienced group facilitator.

3:00pm-4:15pm LeatherWerks Class: Rope Body Harness
A rope body harness provides an inexpensive, handsome and appropriate garment for any leather event. Shibari rope bondage was originally developed in Japan. The ideal rope should be between ¼ and 3/8” in diameter. Larger rope can be used for certain effects. Smaller rope is not particularly successful for Rope Body Harnesses.

11:00am-12:00pm Loving our Bodies & Overcoming Sexual Shame

Loving our Bodies & Overcoming Sexual Shame:

A discussion group to share our journeys towards accepting, appreciating and loving our bodies and our sexuality.  Unfortunately, many of us were not raised to have these attitudes about ourselves.  However, we can correct that mistake.  We can choose to consciously change our beliefs and attitudes and to rid ourselves of any shame about our bodies and our sexuality.  This group will create a supportive atmosphere to share our feelings, goals, ideas and stories to accelerate our healing from shame.  You are welcome regardless of where you are on this journey.  Although this will not be a sexual activity, we will meet across the lake to be in a special environment where our sexuality is welcome. Bring a towel to sit on and to cross the dam.  Meet across the lake under the big tree near Cabin F3.  Discussion leader Dave Buller has made this group a tradition at GNI.

8:00am-9:30am Breakfast
The first breakfast cereal, originally named “Granula,” was invented in the United States in 1863 by James Caleb Jackson. It never became popular because the bran nuggets had to be soaked overnight to be chewable; he later changed the name to Granola in 1881. John Harvey Kellogg is best known for the invention of the famous breakfast cereal, Corn Flakes, in 1878. These Corn Flakes were invented as part of his health regimen to prevent masturbation. His belief was that bland foods, such as these, would decrease or prevent excitement, arousal, and jerking off.
